What Are Geotextiles?

Geotextiles are technical geosynthetics primarily used for separation, filtration, and protection in construction projects. Made from materials such as polypropylene or polyester, they are characterized by their durability and versatility.

Naue geotextiles, such as the Secutex® nonwoven range, are designed to provide material separation and filtration while also offering protective functions. These properties make them ideal for applications in road construction, waste management, erosion control, and many other fields.

One of our latest innovations is Secutex® Green, a 100% biodegradable nonwoven geotextile. Secutex® Green offers the same high performance standards as conventional geotextiles but is more environmentally friendly, helping to reduce the ecological footprint.

Applications:

  • Road Construction: Separation of different soil layers and improvement of load-bearing capacity.
  • Railway Construction: Enhancing the stability of track beds and reducing maintenance costs.
  • Slope Stabilization: Preventing soil erosion and securing slopes.
  • Environmental Protection: Use in landfill liners and protective systems.
  • Renaturation: Use of biodegradable nonwoven geotextiles like Secutex® Green for ecological construction projects.
  • Glacier Protection: Covering glacier and snow surfaces to provide UV protection against melting.

Advantages of Naue nonwoven geotextiles:

  • High Load Capacity: Excellent durability and performance under extreme conditions.
  • Longevity: Resistant to environmental influences and chemical exposure.
  • Easy Installation: Quick and efficient laying, reducing construction time and costs.
  • Versatility: Suitable for a wide range of applications and soil types.
  • Sustainability: Eco-friendly options like Secutex® Green, which is 100% biodegradable.

Geotextiles from Naue

Geotextile: Secutex® is a single-layer, mechanically bonded nonwoven fabric, also known as fleece. Some types are additionally calendered.

Secutex® is a single-layer, mechanically bonded nonwoven geotextiles, also known as fleece. Some types are additionally calendered. It separates soil layers with different grain sizes and ensures filter stability. Typical applications include road construction, railway construction, industrial and traffic route construction, hydraulic engineering, landfill construction, environmental protection, pipeline construction, tunnel construction, and the construction of construction roads, traffic areas, and wind energy plants.

Geotextile Secutex® Green is a 100% biodegradable

Secutex® Green is a 100% biodegradable, mechanically bonded nonwoven geotextile. Made from renewable raw materials, it offers the same high performance standards as conventional geotextiles. Secutex® Green is UV-resistant and suitable for applications such as garden and landscape construction, temporary paths, bank and coastal protection, and glacier protection. It can remain on-site or be composted after renaturation without harming the environment.

Naue GlacierProtect is an insulating and reflective nonwoven fabric made from 100% biodegradable, mechanically bonded Secutex® Green nonwoven fabric.

Naue GlacierProtect is an insulating and reflective nonwoven geotextiles made from 100% biodegradable, mechanically bonded Secutex® Green nonwoven geotextile. Produced exclusively from renewable raw materials, it sustainably delays the melting of snow deposits and glacier surfaces.

Secutex® H offers long-term filter efficiency, high puncture resistance, and adaptability to soil deformations.

Secutex® H is a single-layer, needle-punched nonwoven geotextile made of polypropylene (PP), developed for hydraulic engineering. It serves as a filter and separation layer to prevent the migration of fine particles and ensure structural stability. Secutex® H offers long-term filter efficiency, high puncture resistance, and adaptability to soil deformations. Typical applications include use as a filter geotextile in hydraulic engineering and as a separation geotextile under impermeable cover layers.

Naue nonwoven geotextiles: Applications and Functions

Naue offers a wide range of nonwoven geotextiles under the Secutex® brand, used for various applications in construction and environmental engineering. These nonwoven geotextiles provide functions such as separation, filtration, and protection.

Secutex® is a mechanically bonded nonwoven geotextiles, also available in various GRK types (geotextile robustness classes). It serves to separate soil layers with different grain sizes and ensures filter stability. Typical applications include road construction, railway construction, landfill construction, and tunnel construction.

Secutex® Green is a 100% biodegradable nonwoven geotextiles made from renewable raw materials. It is particularly suitable for eco-friendly projects such as garden and landscape construction, temporary paths, bank and coastal protection, and glacier protection.

Secutex® H is specifically used in hydraulic engineering. This nonwoven geotextiles serves as a filter and separation layer and is robust against puncture and long-term abrasion. It is used, for example, in underwater installations and to protect dams.
