Naue at the International Conference on Glacier Preservation 2025

From 29 to 31 May 2025, Naue took part in the prestigious International Conference on Glacier Preservation in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. More than 2,500 high-level participants from 80 countries attended the event, including policymakers, researchers, NGOs, financial institutions and representatives from various industries. The central focus was on the urgency of global glacier retreat, the promotion of innovation and the strengthening of international cooperation. Held under the banner of the United Nations International Year of Glaciers 2025, the conference underscored the global significance of the topic.

Naue: The industry’s sole representative

Naue was honoured to be the only representative of our sector at this landmark conference. This unique position highlights our commitment to climate protection and reflects the growing relevance of sustainable geotechnical solutions.

Our participation illustrated how industry can play a pivotal role in translating scientific findings and political resolutions into real-world action. At our dedicated stand, we presented Naue GlacierProtect, an innovative covering system designed to slow glacier retreat, as well as the results of our successful pilot project on Austria’s Stubai Glacier. For many attendees, this concept was entirely new and generated significant international interest. The response was overwhelmingly positive.

High-level dialogue and media visibility

Beyond the exhibition, Naue engaged in productive dialogue with representatives from government ministries, development banks, research institutions and civil society organisations. Our technology was featured by several media outlets, further increasing awareness and visibility:

A platform with global impact

One of the conference’s key outcomes was the adoption of the Dushanbe Declaration on Glacier Preservation, calling for enhanced global collaboration and more ambitious climate targets.

For Naue, participating in this high-level forum not only reinforced our role as a technological leader, but also opened doors for new international partnerships and contributions to glacier protection. We are proud to be actively shaping sustainable solutions to one of the most urgent ecological challenges of our time.
