Geogrid-Powered Stability for Thurrock Energy
The site, originally a tidal saltmarsh, now exhibits complex ground conditions. To ensure stable access roads and crane platforms, geogrid reinforcement was specified. Based on prior successful collaborations with Naue, Jones Bros Civil Engineering chose Naue Combigrid® and Secugrid® for the project.
Load transfer platforms over piles – geogrids for load-bearing solutions
As part of urban and port development in Bremerhaven, the New Harbour Lock – connecting the Weser River and Neuer Hafen – was constructed between 2003 and 2005. The project also included a road ramp over the outer lock head, directly adjacent to the historic Loschenturm lighthouse.

Roadworks to open up the construction site for the replacement of a railway power line
As part of the replacement of 110 kV railway power line between Bingen and Koblenz, continuous access to the individual pylon sites had to be created. This required unpaved roads over which heavy construction vehicles such as concrete mixers, mobile cranes and material transporters could travel safely.
HafenCity Hamburg – Safe foundations despite soft ground
After commissioning in 2019, around 67,000 vehicles have used the new route every day. The particularly critical transition area between the bridge and embankment will remain serviceable in the long term thanks to the optimised and consistently planned system. Naue’s Bentofix® X2 NSP 4900 Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL) played a key role in the remediation of a former industrial site in Sighthill, north of Glasgow. The site is being redeveloped for a major urban project including around 800 new homes, infrastructure, green space, retail and community facilities.

Reinforced earthwork embankments for a watercourse realignment, UK
The project-specified erosion control at bends, stable embankments using site-won materials, and low hydraulic permeability to manage fluctuating water levels. Additionally, two earthwork embankments were needed for road crossings over the brook.

The existing tank, with a concrete base 16 metres in diameter and a steel wall 3 metres high, required subsequent waterproofing to protect the building structure acting as barrier from the aggressive substances contained in the liquid slurry.

As there's no shortage of space at Higher Stockbridge, all vehicles and equipment will be stationed on-site throughout the construction period, and rather than installing temporary haul routes across the site during the construction period, it was proposed that permanent access tracks were completed during the initial stages of construction.
