Naue Case Studies – Infrastructure
Wind farm floating access road design and construction, UK
Windy Standard III is part of the Windy Standard Wind Farm in Carsphairn Forest, Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland, which has been in operation for 25 years. Before groundworks could begin, 10km of new access roads had to be built and existing routes upgraded, including approx. 2km of floating access road.
Secudrain® drainage system ensures reliable sports performance
A new artificial grass football field was constructed in Navarra, Spain, installed over the existing natural soil. To support year-round sports activities and maintain optimal playing conditions, an efficient and durable subsurface drainage concept was required.
Secugrid® HS: High-Performance Load Transfer over Rigid Inclusion Piles, UK
Modernising a key UK transport corridor with a future-proof bridge solution - challenging ground conditions demanded a stable foundation system.
Combigrid® – Construction of Floating Forest Access Road, UK
In the Northern Ochil Hills of Scotland, a new forest access network was created across ultra-soft peatland using Naue Combigrid® – without excavation or environmental damage. Discover how this floating road solution enables long-term forestry access while protecting one of the country’s most sensitive carbon stores.
Stabilisation and Reinforcement for Crane Working Platform – Fry’s Corner, Canada
The combination of Combigrid® reinforcement and Naue Portal/Platform design produced a safe and cost-effective working platform on challenging, water-saturated soils.
Secugrid® – keeping Malaysia’s busiest corridor moving with strength that lasts
In partnership with Naue, Alpha Pinnacle Sdn Bhd proposed a Reinforced Soil Foundation (RSF) using Naue Secugrid® 40/40 Q1 geogrids.
Geogrid-Powered Stability for Thurrock Energy
The site, originally a tidal saltmarsh, now exhibits complex ground conditions. To ensure stable access roads and crane platforms, geogrid reinforcement was specified. Based on prior successful collaborations with Naue, Jones Bros Civil Engineering chose Naue Combigrid® and Secugrid® for the project.
Load transfer platforms over piles – geogrids for load-bearing solutions
As part of urban and port development in Bremerhaven, the New Harbour Lock – connecting the Weser River and Neuer Hafen – was constructed between 2003 and 2005. The project also included a road ramp over the outer lock head, directly adjacent to the historic Loschenturm lighthouse.
Smart from the ground up – Geosynthetics for energy & water control
From slope reinforcement to hydraulic sealing, Naue’s geosynthetic systems delivered a high-performance, sustainable foundation for this next-generation battery storage facility.
Roadworks to open up the construction site for the replacement of a railway power line
As part of the replacement of 110 kV railway power line between Bingen and Koblenz, continuous access to the individual pylon sites had to be created. This required unpaved roads over which heavy construction vehicles such as concrete mixers, mobile cranes and material transporters could travel safely.
HafenCity Hamburg – Safe foundations despite soft ground
After commissioning in 2019, around 67,000 vehicles have used the new route every day. The particularly critical transition area between the bridge and embankment will remain serviceable in the long term thanks to the optimised and consistently planned system. A project that shows how geosynthetics and innovative foundation technologies can work together to create high-performance infrastructures.
Ground Stability in HafenCity Hamburg: A Secugrid® Solution
With Naue Secugrid®, an innovative solution with scientific support was realised in Hongkongstraße that not only meets today's requirements, but will also withstand future loads - and at the same time connects the highest level of technical safety with economical construction.
