A drainage composite is a geosynthetic that combines a drainage core (typically a 3D structure or net) with one or two filter geotextiles. It discharges water in-plane while preventing fines from clogging the core.
Whenever the composite is in direct contact with cementitious elements – concrete walls, shotcrete linings, grouted soil – choose Secudrain® WD because of its high alkali resistance.
Yes. In most backfill and capping applications Secudrain® replaces a 30–50 cm gravel filter layer plus a separate filter fabric – with the same or higher in-plane flow capacity.
Per BS EN ISO 12958, with the composite under a defined normal load and hydraulic gradient. Naue publishes full flow curves for each Secudrain® product.
Secudrain® drainage cores are dimensioned for long-term creep under design overburden. Naue’s Engineering & Design Department (EDD) provides project-specific creep-reduced flow values.
Yes. Secudrain® is routinely combined with Bentofix® GCL or Carbofol® HDPE geomembranes in capping and lining systems – Naue supplies the complete system from one source.
Compaction directly on the composite is not permitted. Place backfill in lifts of 200–300 mm and compact away from the wall – Naue installation guidelines detail the procedure.
