Secumat® Green 3D Mesh
biodegradable erosion control mat.
Secumat® Green is a biodegradable erosion control mat designed to protect soil during the early stages of vegetation growth. Acting like an artificial root system, it keeps the ground stable and prevents erosion while plants establish themselves. Once natural vegetation is strong enough to take over, the mat gradually decomposes, leaving behind only healthy roots and secure soil.
Secumat® Green is a sustainable, temporary, erosion control solution.
This Secumat® Green product is an extruded threedimensional erosion control mat consisting of a biodegradable 3D mesh.
The artificial root structure provides optimum erosion control in the developing years by stabilising the soil and roots.
The Secumat® Green 60G5 erosion control product reduces follow-up costs and protects soil and plant structures by being filled with soil until the vegetation fully establishes itself.
It is made from a new type of raw material that is bio-based and completely biodegradable.

Benefits of Secumat® Green
biodegradable erosion control mat

Advantages of Secumat® Green

Typical applications for Secumat® Green
as biodegradable erosion control mat.
1. Biodegradable greening aids for infrastructure
Secumat® Green erosion control mat is used to secure slopes with low erosion risk (up to approx. 40° incline)
on infrastructure structures. It is suitable wherever vegetation needs to be supported for a period
of up to ten years. The established vegetation protects and secures the slope against erosion.
Habitats for microorganisms, such as insects, are created and contribute to an improved microclimate.
2. Vegetating, protecting and securing facing systems
Secumat® Green is used in facing systems. Secumat® Green erosion control products installed at the front provide trickle protection and facilitate vegetation to enable rapid visual integration of the facing surface into the landscape. This is the case, for example, when facing systems with an angle of up to 90° or stepped facing systems require temporary protection against soil erosion, to ensure stability even during phases of poor vegetation or if vegetation fails for up to 10 years
3. Protected vegetation in the water exchange zone with Secumat® Green
When used on embankments, the stronger and thicker 3D mesh of Secumat® Green is particularly effective in stabilising coarser soils. The temporary root stabilisation of natural embankments with Secumat® Green biodegradable products can be reliably ensured, especially in
small streams with low flow velocities
Conclusion
Secumat® Green biodegradable erosion control mat offers a unique combination of sustainability and performance. Manufactured from bio-based materials, it provides reliable temporary protection against erosion while vegetation establishes. Its three-dimensional mesh stabilises soil and supports root development on slopes, embankments and water-side structures.
