Civil Engineering

Over the last several decades, the use of geosynthetic construction materials has increased dramatically in comparison to the mineral construction materials they replace. Applications for geosynthetics include drainage, separation, filtration, reinforcement, protection, sealing, as well as erosion control. Permeable and impermeable geosynthetics are used in civil engineering applications such as roads or earthen structures, to improve upon conventional construction techniques, to enable safer construction practices as well as to create more durable results.

Geosynthetics offer an effective alternative to conventional construction methods and can help save natural resources. Due to their wide range of uses as well as unique characteristics, geosynthetics have become the state-of-the-art construction material and are extensively specified in lieu of mineral construction materials.

By employing complete geosynthetic solutions from NAUE, rapid installation can result in greater construction efficiencies and help to reduce overall project expenses. Secutex® nonwovens are used for filtration, separation and protection. Secudrain® is used for drainage while Secugrid® geogrids are ideal for reinforcement. Secumat® is used for erosion control and Carbofol® geomembranes as well as Bentofix® Geosynthetic Clay Liners for hydraulic sealing applications.
