Carbofix® Carbofix® is a protection liner system manufactured from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) for sealing of concrete structures against aggressive chemical attack. Carbofix® is extensively used in the chemical, pharmaceutical and metal processing industries, and for the lining of industrial and municipal sewers, sewage treatment plants and leachate retention basins. For both new and existing concrete structures, Carbofix® can be used as protection against chemical attack. Two types of Carbofix® products are currently available: Carbofix®-10 with approximately 1,470 anchor studs per m2, and a stud height of approximately 10 mm, and Carbofix®-15 with approximately 850 anchor studs per m2, and a stud height of approximately 15 mm Both product width and length may be adjusted to best suit project specific requirements. Carbofix® lining systems are currently tested for certification at the German Institute for Construction Technology (Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik) for use as a protective lining system for retention and collection basins, and for the storage of water polluting liquids. The base liner, together with the anchor studs are formed monolithically in a special continuous manufacturing process. Thus, such a high concrete pullout resistance is achieved. As only approved resins are used, Carbofix® fulfils the required chemical resistance values according to the listed test liquids as to the construction and testing principles of the German Institute for Construction Technology. Carbofix® concrete protection liners manufactured from HDPE are resistant to rodents, roots and micro-organisms. By using Carbofix®, the expected performance and durability of concrete structures for containment of aggressive liquid can be enhanced, resulting in enormous overall cost savings. Standard Carbofix® concrete protection liners can easily be handled, but can also be pre-fabricated to a max. width of 6 m, allowing an economical large-scale installation. Carbofix® can be professionally installed by installation experts according to WHG 19l (German Water Conservation Act). During the covering of the concrete the studs reinforce in the concrete without any additional fixing. Carbofix® concrete protection liners are particularly resistant to chemical attack and can be used in all applications where long-term protection is required for concrete structures in contact with chemically aggressive substances.
